The project consists of the
interior design of the new HQ of the most important
newspaper in English language of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
Project includes: main reception, a newsroom able to accommodate 105 journalists at once, enclosed offices, VIP and managerial offices, meeting rooms, 1 voice recording studio, 1 studio for photo shooting and video shooting, rest area, training room and server room.
The challenge was to conceive an interesting space despite the limitations in terms of available office space and given budget. The contrast between the dark and light grey in the corridor recalls the contrast of the black words of a newspaper printed on white paper.
The arrangement of the spaces maximizes natural light and the view to the outside (the offices faces Khalifa Park).
The progression of spaces along the corridor is emphasized by volumes which at times are solid at times transparent.
The ceiling is left semi-open to increase internal height as well as to underline the geometry of the plan.
