The new IMI Headquarters represents a comprehensive full interior design project spanning over 11,000 sqm, redefining a landmark building on Yas Island as a state-of-the-art media hub. Home to Sky News Arabia, The National, and Al Ain, the project integrates architecture, infrastructure, and technology to support 24/7 broadcasting operations at the highest level.
The scope includes major infrastructure and structural upgrades, such as complete electrical load redistribution and the addition of an external generator to ensure N+2 power redundancy for uninterrupted broadcasting. Recognized as critical infrastructure by the Abu Dhabi government, the facility incorporates enhanced security protocols and dedicated basement checkpoints.
Spaces range from a minimalist main reception featuring a large video wall and a reinterpreted library, to expansive open-plan newsrooms organized around central news hubs and live broadcast areas. The project also includes TV studios with control rooms and editing suites, the IMI Academy training center, executive offices, a full staff cafeteria and event space connected to an outdoor terrace, presenter salons, technical and administrative offices, and a 100-rack server room supporting the building’s advanced systems.
This project embodies a forward-thinking vision for modern media environments—where functionality, resilience, and human-centered design come together seamlessly.
