The program and set of requirements received from client and operator were very articulate and at times in contrast. Building’s peculiar geometry increased the complexity of the design in terms of aesthetics and technical problems related to MEP (in particular plumbing, drainage and water supply).
Difficulties were also faced in optimizing the access to the SPA from the main tower lifts and in connecting smoothly the changing rooms to the new SPA and the existing gym and the outdoor swimming pool on the 4th floor.
SPA is operated by LivNordic, a fast-growing Scandinavian SPA franchise, which has founded its approach to relaxation and wellbeing on northern European lifestyle and traditions and that takes inspiration from the nordic aesthetics for sleek and minimalistic materials as well as the use of wood.
The area was divided into male and female sections which are connected by a set of treatment rooms that can be accessed by both sides. Each section showcases sauna, steam room, cold plunge, emotional showers and relaxation areas.
In terms of materials and finishes: natural oak is used throughout the project as well as concrete and stones on different shades of gray. Great importance was given to lighting in order to create customizable settings and allow soft and relaxing effect.
