New middle school

2011
Caslano (Switzerland)

Area: 3.600 sqm
Client: Municipality of Caslano
Performed services: preliminary design

The school is a two storey building made of two blocks
crossing at the entrance point.
Thanks to the different kinds of cladding that shade the
classrooms and the internal areas, all the spaces are
recognizable from the outside, so that all students
and teachers can develop a greater sense of belonging to
their place.
The gym is covered with polycarbonate panels, so that in
the night it can be illuminated and become a focal point
which characterizes the building as an attractive point
in the neighborhood.
The school also features a courtyard, a public and private
space, and which is at the same time a light source, a
space to play, a “chance” to meet and interact.
